After a tour among the tropical gardens of the lodge, a path through the jungle allows access to the spectacular cave of “Peña Blanca”.

The gigantic rooms, lined with various mineralogical formations, are “fossil” parts of the hydro-speleological system of the “Cuevas de Candelaria”, about 30 meters above the current route of the “sacred river”.

Mayan ceramics, which still carpet parts of the floor of the rooms, attest to the use of these caves by the Mayas as a place of worship and pilgrimage.

The excursion, of approximately an hour and a half, allows people of all ages to easily access the fascinating “Underworld” of the Mayans: “Xibalbá”, to live an unforgettable experience, at the limits of mythology and dreams.
